Last "Movies on Main" of the Year is Saturday in Stone Mountain Village

"Tangled" is the chosen movie, which starts at sundown.

, the free family-friendly outdoor event in Stone Mountain Village, will show its last movie of the year on Saturday, Oct. 15, at sundown on the First Baptist Church lawn in the town's center.

The Disney film "Tangled" is the special feature.

There's no charge for the movie and there are drawings for giveaways. Be sure to bring a lawn chair or blanket.

Usually between 300-550 people come to "Movies on Main," said Kim Delaney, executive director, Main Street Stone Mountain, but "it never feels crowded. We have room to grow."

She said people appreciate the no-cost event that the whole family can enjoy.

"I think it's been successful because it's no secret we're in some tough economic times right now, and this is free family fun at its best," Delaney said. "We offer at least a little bit of relief to get the family together and have some fun together."

After Saturday, "Movies on Main" will start back up next spring, and people are welcome to give suggestions on movie titles, Delaney said.
