Grab And Go Kids Planner

We've assembled a calendar of kid-friendly activities for the weekend.

It's the middle of the week, which means it's time to start planning for the weekend. Temperatures will be a little warmer, so it's a perfect opportunity to get out of the house with the children and do something cooler than watching television. We've rounded up a few options for you, with something for all ages and budgets. If you happen to head out to one of these events, let us know how it went!

"The Outrageous Adventures of Sheldon and Mrs. Levine"

When: Friday, Feb. 18 and  19 at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. (additional dates through March 6th.)

Find out what's happening in Stone Mountain-Lithoniawith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Where: "Art Station" 5384 Manor Drive, Stn. Mtn Village, GA 30083,  (770) 469-1105

Why Go:  Putting the "fun" in "dysfunctional" is the name of the game for this unforgettable play. Sheldon is searching for his mother's happiness, and we are along for the ride as they exchange letters thousands of miles apart - but still too close for comfort. This play is fun for the whole family, but is probably best for older children.

Pricing: $23-$27. Please go to the Art Station Website to purchase tickets.

When: Ongoing: Tues - Sat, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.,  Sun.  12 p.m. -4 p.m.

Where: Michael C. Carlos Museum @ Emory.  571 South Kilgo Circle
Atlanta, GA 30322. (404) 727-4282

Why Go:  Explore two fascinating exhibits with your family in one day. "Monsters" explores the imaginary creatures of the ancient world that blended two or more species into one amazing creature. Your children will be familiar with Pegasus and the Chimera but will be amazed at the collection of other creatures shown. "Divine Intervention" illustrates traditional African beliefs that some works of art can bridge the spiritual and human worlds.  Masks, amulets, shrines, and other divining instruments will be on display.

Pricing: Free! But donations are accepted.

Mom Tip: Plan to eat lunch in the Emory Village. "Everybody's Pizza", "Doc Chey's", and "Rise n' Dine" are just a few of the many great choices available.

"Nunsense, The Mega-Musical" @ The New London Theatre

When: Friday, Feb. 18 and Saturday, Feb. 19 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 20 at 2:30 p.m.

Where: New London Theatre. 2485 Main Street East SW, Snellville, GA 30078. (770) 559-1484

Why Go:  Spruce up your weekend by taking your family to the theatre. This play is a comedy/musical about a show the "Little Sisters of Hoboken" put on to raise money to bury their sisters accidently poisoned by the convent cook. A show full of humor and “uplifting” musical numbers, it will be sure to get laughter and smiles from your whole family. Probably best for familes with older children.
