Get Out: The Weekend Planner

It's Thursday, and the weekend is almost here.

HOLLALUJAH: A COMEDY EXPERIENCE (www.thesoulfactory.com)

When/Where: Friday, Feb. 18, 8 p.m.-midnight, The Soul Factory, 5567 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain.

Why Go: Calling it a "quality clean event," The Soul Factory will have a number of comedic live acts and performances such as spoken-word artist Focus, the Black Top Comedy Improv group and BET Comedian Double D. DJ Genius and Kalimba artist Kevin Spears will also bring musical entertainment for the evening. 

Pricing: Tickets are $10 in advance (available here) and $15 at the door. VIP tables fit 6 people and are priced at $50 per table.

"THE OUTRAGEOUS ADVENTUES OF SHELDON AND MRS. LEVINE: A SON'S ELUSIVE SEARCH FOR HIS MOTHER'S HAPPINESS" (www.artstation.org)

When/Where: Friday- Saturday, Feb. 18-19, 8 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 20, 3 p.m.ART Station, 5384 Manor Drive, Stone Mountain.  

Why Go: The plot exploits the crazy relationship of a mother and her son as they exchange insane and funny letters while living thousands of miles apart. According to ART Station, "Enter their strange, outrageous world that gives insanity a good name."

Pricing: Tickets are $23 for students and seniors and $27 for adults.  

"NUNSENSE THE MEGA MUSICAL" (www.newlondontheatre.org)

When/Where: Friday-Saturday, Feb. 18-19, 8 p.m.; Sunday, Feb. 20, 2:30 p.m.; New London Theatre, 2485 East Main Street, Snellville.

Why Go: There's only one more weekend after this one for the hit Broadway musical at Snellville's theatrical company. A show for all ages, watch the laugh-out-loud story of nuns who put on a fundraiser to pay for the burials of other nuns who've been poisoned by their convent cook.

Pricing: Tickets are $12.60.

"A NIGHT OF ONE ACTS!"

When/Where: Friday-Sunday, Feb. 17-19, 8 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 18, 3 p.m.Lucerne Baptist Church, 4805 Stone Mountain Highway, Lilburn.  

Why Go: Watch four family-friendly plays in one evening. Little kids can learn the ABCs with the church's alphabet act; "The Complete History of the Old Testament" explains the book in a speedy 20 minutes; "Kids Grounded From TV" tells a story of a girl whose imagination runs wild when she's forced to clean up her room; and the classic tale of "The Princess and the Pea" is retold. 

Pricing: Tickets range from $5 to $8, depending on the day of the show.  Tickets can be purchased online here.

FLAP JACK SATURDAYS

When/Where: Saturday, Feb. 19, 9 a.m., Movie Tavern, 4043 Lavista Road, Tucker.

Why Go: IHOP may have their all-you-can-eat pancakes special going on now, but Movie Tavern still has it beat: Every Saturday morning, the theater shows a family flick (this week, they have a choice of "Tangled," "The Chronicles of Narnia 3," "Yogi Bear 3D" and "Gullivers Travels 3D") with unlimited pancakes for everyone to enjoy, plus a drink. That's one tasty way to start off your weekend, right?

Pricing: Tickets are $9 for kids and $10.50 for adults. For 3-D movies, $2 is added to each ticket. Tickets can only be purchased at the theater.

BECKY KIDD ART OPENING (www.thelittleshopofartsandantiques.com)

When/Where: Saturday, Feb. 19, noon-3 p.m., The Little Shop of Arts and Antiques94 Main Street, Lilburn. 

Why Go: Kick off your Saturday with a meet and greet with painter Becky Kidd, the artist behind the shop's dog portraits. With cookies, coffee and hot chocolate, the shop is having the exhibit's opening day this Saturday, and her art will be featured until the end of February.

Pricing: Free for the opening. Also, a raffle will start Saturday and end next Saturday, Feb. 26, for $2 per entry. The winner will pick a dog of his or her liking, and Kidd will paint a custom portrait for the winner. 

ATLANTA BELLY DANCE PARTY

When/Where: Saturday, Feb. 19, 9 p.m., Spot Bar, 4578 Britt Road, Tucker.

Why Go: You don't have to go into Atlanta for bellydancing anymore. Not only does Tucker's Spot Bar have exotic dancers that make their bodies glide likes waves every Saturday, but the dancers also do other tricks such as dancing with firey-lit drinking shots.

HALF-OFF TICKETS AT YELLOW RANCH (www.yellowrivergameranch.com)

When/Where: Monday, Feb. 21, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. (last ticket is sold at 4 p.m.), Yellow River Game Ranch, 4525 Stone Mountain Highway, Lilburn.

Why Go: If you're one of the lucky ones to have President's Day off from work, treat the kids and adventure to Yellow River Game Ranch. The weather is predicted to be warm and sunny for Monday, so why not give the groundhog a pat on the head for his welcoming prediction for an early spring?

Pricing: Did we mention the best part? It's half off, so $3.50 for kids ages 2 to 11 and everyone older is $4.
