Get Out: A Look at Things to Do This Weekend

Theatre, live music, fresh produce and trivia to survive the heat this weekend.

"Married Alive!"

When/Where: Thursday-Saturday, July 21-23, 8 p.m., and Sunday, July 24, 3 p.m., 5384 Manor Drive, Stone Mountain. 

Why Go: ART Station is ending the theatrical season with "Married Alive!", a humorous performance about one old and one new marriage that is sure to touch hearts. Viewers of almost all ages will be able to connect with the too-familiar phases of babies, empty nests, Viagra and job stress that every couple goes through.

Fresh Produce and Alias Smith & Jones at the Village Corner

When/Where: Saturday, July 23, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., The Village Corner German Restaurant and Bakery, 6655 James B. Rivers Drive, Stone Mountain. 

Why Go: Bright and early at 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., the German Bakery has fresh, locally grown produce every Saturday, from zucchini to tomatoes to peaches. Stick around the Village because at 7 p.m., local rock duo  will perform for restaurant-goers. Don't plan on staying all night? To-go orders get 20 percent off their total bill from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Karaoke with Ernie at the Watering Hole

When/Where: Sunday, July 24, 8 p.m.-midnight, The Watering Hole, 4341 Hugh Howell Road, Tucker. 

Why Go: Looking for a last hoorah for the weekend? The Watering Hole has karaoke night every Sunday evening. Even if you get tired or your voice gets hoarse, there's plenty of Keno, pool, darts and other goodies to play. 

Screen on the Green and Live Music at The Avenue

When/Where: Saturday, July 23, 6:30 p.m., The Avenue, 1350 Scenic Highway, Snellville. 

Why Go: Screen on the Green continues, and this week it's with the Johnny Depp movie "Rango." As usual, kids' activities such as a bounce house and face painting will be available before the film, and after the film, if the kids are still up for it, there will be live music at Wild Wing Cafe at 10:30 p.m., featuring Noah Sampson, a folk-acoustic artist from Atlanta

Art Sale, Writing Tips and Crochet in Old Town

When/Where: Friday and Saturday, July 22, , 94 Main Street, Lilburn.

Why Go: It's another busy weekend at the shop. Friday, meet new art dealers and get great deals on framed and unframed art (prices $5-$100). The shop is open until 8 p.m. On Saturday, take in a writers' seminar, "Self-Publishing in the 21st Century," led by author Emilie P. Bush. The seminar is 1-3 p.m. (a book signing follows). Cost is $20. From 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. learn basic crochet in the shop's Christmas in July program with Handmade by Dawn. Space is first-come, first-served.

Team Trivia at The Dublin Pub and Grill 

When/Where: Thursday, July 21, 8 p.m., The Dublin Pub and Grill, 3902 Highway 78, Snellville. 

Why Go: The Dublin hosts trivia every Thursday evening to whoever wants to play. Prizes include $40, $20 and $10 gift certificates for the top three winners.
