Celebrate Fathers Day with Music

In the 197th concert is the popular "Music for Missions" Series, tenor and trumpet player Jack Sartain, toprano Lillian Cherry, pianist and soprano Ellen Longino, cellist and drummer Andrew Barnett, guitarists and other talented performers will present a program of stage, screen and radio music. This program has been produced by popular demand from survey results from the large audiences that the series draws at its Sunday night concerts.

Examples of music selections come partly from major stage and movie productions such Les Miz, Titanic, Phantom of the Opera, Showboat, The King and I and other standard broadway tunes.
Part of the program will present popular inspirational pieces such as Ave Maria and Pie Jesu; heritage music will feature western cowboy themes, folk selections as well as several instrumental tunes, primarily jazz and blues.

The concert is free but an offering will be taken to support the charities and missions selected by United Methodist Men at the church. This series is a major program sponsored by United Methodist Men. The series was begun in 1999 and has raised more than $115,000 through donations from the generous audiences.Β All of the proceeds go to mission and charities.
