Hands on Atlanta Day was Saturday and several local schools and organizations took part in volunteer activities.

At Allgood Elementary, for example, parents as well as volunteers from Benjamin E. Mays High School, Comcast, St. Phillip AME Church and New Covenant Christian Ministries were among those who worked together accomplishing tasks such as painting benches and walls, planting flowers, and getting rid of poison ivy, said project coordinator Brinda Taylor.

If you participated in Hands on Atlanta Day volunteering activities in Stone Mountain and Lithonia, share photos of the experience on Patch.

Just click on the "Upload Photos and Videos" button located under the photo of the Allgood Elementary volunteers, add the photos and write a caption with some information of where the volunteering took place and what work was done.
