Michael Rich, Director of Emory University's Center for Community Partnerships, will make a presentation this week in Stone Mountain on possible improvements to Memorial Drive.
Rich and his faculty associates have developed over 10 years of demographic research data, and made presentations to a wide variety of audiences, including federal and state officials committed to help solve some of the more pressing social challenges faced by the nation’s largest metropolitan areas.
Economic redevelopment is a key element. The Center has been extensively engaged with DeKalb County’s Community and Human Development Department. Much of that research and the recommendations from those projects are directly related to challenges faced in the redevelopment and revitalization of the Memorial Drive corridor.
Dr. Rich will present highlights of that research relevant to Memorial Drive in a presentation that will be followed by a Q&A, but "no personal war stories," according to a press release.
Thursday Sept. 12, – 7 p.m. St. Timothy’s United Methodist Church, 5365 Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain.
