Pet of the Week: Sally

Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends Inc. is a good place to start looking for a new furry best friend.

Imagine being less than two years old, walking alone outside before a stranger gets you to temporary safety.

That's what happened to Sally, a pup who is still in need of a permanent home. Here's how Susan Leisure, director of Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends Inc. (AARF) in Stone Mountain, describes Sally:

"Meet Sally! She is about 1.5 years old, and has been through a lot
already. She was found walking down the middle of a busy street and
fell into the hands of some caring people who turned her world around.
She did her mandatory stint at animal control and has gone through
heartworm treatment. She is now heartworm free and ready to find her
forever home!

Sally is a sweet Pit Bull mix who is happiest curled up in the laps of
her human friends. She is a super snuggler and nothing rivals her love
for being with her humans except maybe a good toss with her ball or a
nice big bone. She shares her toys nicely and is not possessive. She's
extremely loyal and goes the extra mile to please her foster mom. She
gets along wonderfully with children and is exceptionally tolerant.
She loves to flop over after playtime for nice long naps. She enjoys
riding in the car and going on long walks. She is doing well with
walking on a leash and is learning to art of being friendly to other
canine friends she encounters on her walks.

Sally does have a lot of energy and sometimes enjoys running around
like a goofball, which is greatly helped by a long walk or a romp in
the park. She is working to perfect her crate training and house
training. She tends to get overexcited by the presence of cats and
thinks they make better toys than friends, so it' s best her forever
home is kitty free."
