Patch Picks: Places to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day

Haven't decided where to celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Patch has some suggestions.

When/Where: Thursday, March 17, 6 p.m.-10 p.m., ART Station, 5384 Manor Drive, Stone Mountain. 

Why Go: ART Station is having their annual fundraiser with live and silent auctions, complimentary green beer, a raffle and music. Food from the Village's restaurants will also be available to munch on, and bidders can bid on items such as works of art, tickets for events and dinner passes. The money raised will go toward to funding ART Station's programs such as their kids summer camp scholarships and more.

Pricing: Tickets are $20 in advance online here and $25 at the door. 

ST. PADDY'S DAY PARTY AT 

When/Where: Thursday, March 17, 8 p.m.- 11 p.m., Will Henry's Tavern, 1228 Rockbridge Road, Stone Mountain.

Why Go: What better way to celebrate the weekend early than with a beer in hand celebrating the luck of the Irish? Will Henry's will be having green beer and other goodies at the tavern come Thursday, in addition to musical guest Derek St. Holmes, singer and vocalist for hard rock musician / gun nut Ted Nugent.

Pricing: $5 cover charge at the door. 

When/Where: Thursday, March 17. 4522 East Ponce de Leon Ave., Clarkston.

Why Go: Food and drink specials  all day long, plus general carrying on, or as the Irish call it, "a bit of craic."

Pricing: Corned Beef, Cabbage, Potatoes & Carrots $12. Magners Cider $3. Smithwick's Irish Ale $3.50

 

THE MARLAY HOUSE

When/Where: Thursday, March 17. 426 W. Ponce De Leon Ave., Decatur.

Why Go: Their website says it all: "Everyone is Irish on March 17 at your authentic Irish owned Decatur pub. We will be going huge again - Music, Dancing and Patron Saint toasting."

Pricing: Varied but reasonable. 

 

MAC MCGEE

When/Where: Thursday, March 17. 111 Sycamore Street, Decatur Square, Decatur. 

Why Go: As with The Marlay, this establishment is owned and run by Dubliners. It's a great place to go, regardless of St.Patrick's Day. And they will call you a cab if necessary.
