Local Homeless Youth Outreach, Animal Rescue Part of 'Georgia Gives Day' Dec. 6

The need for volunteers and donations for local groups doesn't stop there, though.

Young People Matter, a homeless youth shelter and outreach, and Atlanta Wild Animal Rescue Effort, are seeking to raise funds through participating in a special effort, Georgia Gives Day, on Dec. 6.

According to its website:

"Georgia Gives Day is really about us all – it’s about everyone pulling together to support the organizations and causes right in our own backyards and across the state that have been a part of our lives since day one.

So, we are asking all Georgians, on December 6th, to give a little and share a little so that, together, we can do a lot for the causes that we all care about."

In addition, a Georgia Gives Day press release states: "The mission of Georgia Gives Day is to inspire individuals to donate to participating nonprofits with the goal of raising as much money as possible within a 24-hour period."
