Lithonia News: Thanksgiving Service; Park Plan; Disaster Preparedness

Several events in town in the next few days.

News from City of Lithonia:

On Sunday, Nov. 24 at 6 p.m. the Annual Community Thanksgiving Service is being hosted by First St. Paul AME at 2687 Klondike Road, Lithonia.

The City has been working with the architectural firm Cooper Carry to develop a Master Plan for the Lithonia City Park. On Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m., there will be a community meeting to review conceptual plans for the park at the Lithonia Woman's Club, 2564 Wiggins Street, Lithonia.

To help prepare the community in the event of a disaster, CSX Railroad is hosting a Emergency Planning Table Top exercise on Thursday, Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Antioch-Lithonia Missionary Baptist Church, 2152 Rock Chapel Road, Lithonia. This is an opportunity to obtain information about how to prepare for a disaster. If you plan to attend or want more information, please send an email to Gale.Tolan@lithoniacity.org.

The Tree Lighting and Holiday Program will be on Sunday, Dec. 8 from 5-7 p.m. in Kelly Park at the corner of Main Street and Max Cleland Blvd.
