Georgia weather won't let it snow at Stone Mountain Park just yet.
says that "due to unseasonable weather conditions," its Snow Mountain won't be open today or tomorrow, Thanksgiving.
That means November has not only been a bit too warm at times for the park's attraction to open as planned today, it's really just too wet.
"The rain last night was intense," said Stone Mountain Park spokeswoman Jeanine Jones. "Rain is our biggest enemy."
Snow Mountain operates much like a ski resort, Jones said. The park has to continue monitoring the weather to make sure conditions are favorable for the snowy attraction.
If you purchased tickets for today and Nov. 24, you'll get an e-mail detailing how to re-book your session to a new date, the park says. Tickets are still available Nov. 25-27, and special combo pricing is available for Snow Mountain and the Stone Mountain Park Christmas celebration.
