Community Council Gives the Nod to the Greater Hidden Hills Overlay District

Next stop: Nov. 1 planning commission meeting.

The Community Council at its Monday meeting recommended the Greater Hidden Hills Overlay District, a plan that's been in the works in the area for some four years.

The next stop for the code, which supporters of the district say would preserve green space, invite positive development and create attractive streetscapes, is a Nov. 1 planning commission meeting; then the final stop, the board of commissioners meeting Nov. 15.

"It’s becoming a popular tool of communities," said Madolyn Spann, with DeKalb County Department of Planning and Sustainability, to the council, which met at the Redan-Trotti Library.
