Granite Grasshopper 5K Raises $3,800 for Two Stone Mountain Schools

The event on Saturday, Oct. 13 raised $900 more than it did last year, had 71 5K runners and 19 Wellness walkers.

The second annual Granite Grasshopper 5K and Wellness Walk on Saturday, Oct. 13 raised $3,800 -- $900 more than it did last year -- to be split between Stone Mountain Elementary School and Champion Middle School.

Stone Mountain city manager Barry Amos announced the success of the event at Monday's city council work session.

There were 71 participants in the 5K and 19 Wellness walkers.
