Get Out: The Weekend Planner

The end of the school day Friday begins spring break for many, and if you completely forgot or just don't have anything planned, here are a few activities to make sure the break at least starts off right.

And even if you don't have kids, there are some events for the older crowd, too.

When/Where: March 31, 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.; April 1, 10 a.m.; April 2, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; , 4805 Stone Mountain Highway, Lilburn.

Why Go: Presented by the Artios Academies of Gwinnett, "Annie, Get Your Gun" is based on the famous Irving Berlin show on the Broadway stage. Even though it sticks to the original Wild West wrangle between Annie Oakley and Frank Butler, the Gwinnett version features a second romance to spice things up.

Pricing: Tickets range from $5 to $10, plus a convience charge of around $1. Order tickets at the door or online here.

When/Where: April 1-3, 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Stone Mountain Park, 1000 Robert E. Lee Drive, Stone Mountain.

Why Go: There are just too many things to do at Stone Mountain Park for Spring Break; it's practically impossible to fit it in on just one day. Craft demonstrations for candy and glass blowing; the laser show; The Great Barn with super slides, climbing structures and 65 games; and the Camp Highland Outpost with ziplines and low ropes are just a few of the items lined up. Three new features added to this year's entertainment list are the Wildlife Wonders Animal Babies, where people can meet baby kangaroos, fawns and more; the Little Quarry Construction Zone, which will have a giant sandbox and tools to built sandcastles; and the stage show "Wake the Bear: An Improvised Adventure Show." When/Where: Friday, April 2, 9 p.m., Spot Bar & Grill, 4578 Britt Road, Tucker. 

Why Go: Friday is karaoke night at Spot Bar every week in Tucker. Grab a few friends, some appetizers and drinks and sing your heart out for everyone in the bar to dance to.

When/Where: Saturday, April 2, 7 a.m.-9:30 a.m., Masonic Lodge #449, 840 V.F.W. Drive, Stone Mountain.

Why Go: The Stone Mountain Masonic Lodge No. 449 welcomes everyone to its open breakfast held on the first Saturday of every month. Starting bright and early, everyone that comes can enjoy a traditional, country-style breakfast and meet with the members of the masonry.

Pricing: A donation of $4.50 is accepted.

When/Where: Saturday, April 2, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., CrossFit ICONZ, 2073 Westside Court, Snellville. 

Why Go: The fitness center is having a grand opening extravaganza this weekend in collaboration with the office park YSS Athletics and Pro Performance Tech and Tune. As a family-friendly event, the opening welcomes attendees of all ages to participate in a workout of the day while having fun and being introduced to CrossFit ICONZ. Also, enter to win a three-day, two-night vacation, which will go to five participants at the event. 

Pricing: Free to attend. 

When/Where: Sunday, April 3, noon-6 p.m., Stylish Consignments parking lot, 5514 Lawrenceville Highway, Lilburn.

Why Go: Purchase items at this Sunday's charity sale by Stylish Consignments and it will benefit those who need it. Out of everything sold, 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Partners Against Domestic Violence, including the organization's children and youth programs. 

Pricing: Free to browse, of course.

When/Where: Sunday, April 3, 4 p.m.-5:30 p.m., Smoke Rise Baptist Church, 5901 Hugh Howell Road, Stone Mountain. 

Why Go: Chorale II is a community choral ensemble that has performed all over the metro Atlanta area every year since 2006.  This spring weekend, their concert will include musical selections from classical Johannes Brahms, contemporary Barry Manilow and more.
