Don't miss Spring Fling and the Bluegrass Festival in Stone Mountain Village Saturday!

SECOND ANNUAL SPRING FLING IN THE VILLAGE AND ART STROLL

When/Where: Saturday, March 26, 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Stone Mountain Village, Main Street, Stone Mountain.

Why Go: Stone Mountain Village is celebrating the start of the season with some bluegrass tunes on every corner, a hat contest, prizes and more. The Village's vendors are participating, too. Fling goers can receive a free flower for every shop that has a "Come in" sign, and show your bouquet at the Village Corner Bakery to get a free fruit drink. The bakery also will have high tea from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. for $12 per person. The Art Stroll will follow at 6 p.m. at ART Station to show youth-connecting works by Avondale Estates artist H. C. Warner and works by DeKalb County students and school faculty. Don't forget the SMart Incubator spaces, too, which also will be showing its art. Art spaces will have free drinks, food and wine, completing Saturday's perfect list of Village activities.

When/Where: Saturday, March 26, 6 p.m.-10:30 p.m., Stone Mountain Industrial Park, 1445 Rock Mountain Blvd, Stone Mountain.

Why Go: The Stone Mountain Rotary Club is hosting its second annual Charity Bash for Cash to benefit various international charities, as well as local charities and causes such as ART Station, FODA, DeKalb Tech scholarships and the Scout Merit Badge Clinic. Silent auctions, music, food and drink, cash prizes and casino games are a part of the itinerary for the evening, and even a grand prize of $5,000 will be given to one lucky attendee. Hurry, because only 300 tickets will be sold for the evening's festivities.

Pricing: Tickets are $25 per person for dinner, drinks, entertainment and dancing, while tickets that include dinner, drinks, prizes and $2,000 in Bonus Bucks for the silent auction are $100 per couple. Call Carol Lipphardt at 404-630-5298 to reserve tickets.

1K AND 5K ARCADO FUN RUN

When/Where: Sunday, March 27, 1 p.m.-3 p.m., , 5150 Arcado Road, Lilburn. 

Why Go: It's officially spring, so kick it off with something to burn all that winter fat off. The PTA of Arcado Elementary School is having its annual 1K and 5K Fun Run on Arcado Road from Rockbridge Road to Lilburn-Stone Mountain Road. All participants will receive snacks and beverages (T-shirts are limited, so everyone may not receive a shirt), and awards will also be given out for the two races. Did we mention the Fun Run is a good way to support the public school, too?

Pricing: $12 for kids 12 years old and younger, $17 for those 13 years and older, and $6 for everyone that doesn't want a T-shirt. Discounts also available to participating families of 4 or more. Registration form is here

SNELLVILLE NETWORKERS WEEKLY MEETING

When/Where: Friday, March 25, 11:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m., Hot N Cold Chinese Buffet, 2302 East Main Street, Snellville. 

Why Go: Grab some Chinese or bring a sack lunch to mingle and network with other business people. Every Friday, Hot N Cold Chinese Buffett becomes a place for exchanging business cards and collateral to get better connected with those in the metro area. 

Pricing: Free. Attendees are responsible for their own lunches, though.

COMMUNITY FISH FRY

When/Where: Friday, March 25, 5 p.m.-7:30 p.m., , 722 Rockbridge Rd SW, Lilburn.

Why Go: All Saints Lutheran Church invites everyone on Fridays during Lent. For a price cheaper than going out to a sit-down restaurant, enjoy different foods including Lenten fish fries, catfish, homemade cheese grits and traditional Lutheran potato casserole. 

Pricing: Kids 5 and under are free, kids ages 6 to 12 are $5 and adults are $8.

FRIDAY NIGHT APPLEBEE'S KARAOKE

When/Where: Friday, March 25, 10 p.m.-2 a.m., Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar, 4353 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker.

Why Go: In addition to live music and a DJ in Tucker's Applebee's, karaoke Fridays will be thriving in the restaurant, too. Sing to your heart's content with a microphone in one hand and a drink special in the other hand.
