19th amendment anniversary; Bad Poetry Day.

From an important anniversary on voting rights to the DeKalb school lunch menu to a recognition of bad verse, here are five things to know today:

The weather: Mostly sunny today, high of 89 degrees, 20 percent chance of rain. Low of 69 degrees at night.
Today in history: The 19th Amendment to the Constitution, which allows women the right to vote, is ratified on this day in 1920. Georgia doesn’t ratify it until 1970.
What’s for lunch? DeKalb County elementary students have a choice of chicken chili crispitos or breaded chicken sandwich; and a choice of two sides, shredded lettuce and tomato, California blend, cinnamon apples or fresh pear, with cheese rice. Middle school students have the added choice of a taco hot pocket entree. High school students’ additional entree choices are breaded shrimp and chicken nuggets with corn bread.
Best seller: “The Help” by Kathryn Stockett finished the week as the nation’s best-selling book according to information compiled by USA Today. The new week for the listing starts today.
