Community Meeting Scheduled to Discuss Hillandale Walmart

The regional general manager and market manager will attend. Open to public.

In response to complaints about the Hillandale-Walmart -- a popular shopping destination for Stone Mountain, Lithonia and even Henry County residents -- Commissioner Stan Watson and Commissioner Lee May met last week with Walmart's South Eastern Regional corporate office, according to Kelly LaJoie, Executive Assistant to Commissioner Stan Watson.

A meeting, open to the public, will be held on Thursday, June 7th at Ousely United Methodist Church, 3261 Panola Rd. in Lithonia to further discuss complaints and suggestions.

Regional general manager Karen Brewer sent a letter concerning the meeting to community members, which in part read:

"We acknowledge there may have been times when we have not met our goal for consistent high quality products and service.  To be certain, we have tried.  For this reason, we want to hear your concerns."

Brewer and market manager Zola Davis will be present at the meeting.
