At the Library: Storytime for Little Ones, Puppet Show for Families

"Queen Glitter" will make an appearance at Stone Mountain-Sue Kellogg.

There are plenty of activities to keep the little ones engaged this week at libraries serving the Stone Mountain area, including morning and evening programs today, Monday June 27:

Hairston Crossing:

Monday, June 27, 10 am-10:45 am:  For ages 3-5 years.  Described as “storytime fun from around the world for the preschool set! “ The program includes songs and stories. Open to first 15 participants.

Redan-Trotti:

Monday, June, 27, 5-6 pm. Puppeteers Peter and Mary Ann Hart put on an international puppet show, which includes marionettes to muppet-style to an 18-foot parade dragon. The interactive show is for families, all ages welcome. Open to first 60 participants.

Wednesday, June 29:

  • 10-10:45 am: For ages 0-2, the program is an introduction for parents and young children to development-enhancing activities and materials. Every parent is required to participate, and each child needs an adult lap. No groups, please.
  • 11-11:45 am: Children ages 3-5 will listen to stories based on the One World, Many Stories summer theme. After the stories, kids do a theme-related craft. Open to first 24 participants.

Stone Mountain-Sue Kellogg:

Tuesday, June 28, 11-11:45 am: Queen Glitter brings her magic to the library, including stories from Glitterland. Guest storyteller Kathy Bennett will entertain kids ages 3-5.

Normal hours of operation: The three libraries serving Stone Mountain -- Stone Mountain-Sue Kellogg, Redan-Trotti, and Hairston Crossing -- are all closed on Sundays; open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. *Please note, Sunday, July 3, 2011 and Monday, July 4, 2011 libraries will be closed in observance of Independence Day.
