AKA Clothing Drive Prepares Women for the Workforce

35 bags of donated items were collected at Stonecrest Mall.

From an Alpha Kappa Alpha press release:

On Saturday, November 16, 2013, three East Metro-Atlanta Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (Chi Tau Omega Chapter, Newton/Rockdale Counties; Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter, Decatur; and Tau Pi Omega Chapter, Stone Mountain/Lithonia) partnered with The Mall at Stonecrest to hold a professional clothing drive to aid women in battered women’s shelters, domestic violence shelters, and homeless shelters get back into the workforce.

Supporters of the event donated suits, blouses, skirts, slacks, and shoes. Overall, 35 bags of professional clothing were collected from over 95 individuals and donated to three agencies. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Chi Tau Omega Chapter, Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter, and Tau Pi Omega Chapter, in conjunction with The Mall at Stonecrest, would like to thank all the individuals who supported the clothing drive.
