After School Program, Pet Help Volunteers Needed

A weekly list of local volunteer opportunities.

The following are several organizations' needs for volunteers or donations. The groups listed are in Stone Mountain or in areas nearby:

  • , 5561 Memorial Drive Suite H in Stone Mountain, needs classroom assistants in its after school program August 16-September 7 (Monday-Thursday) from 2:45 until 5:45 p.m.

Volunteer coordinator Stephanie Burton said volunteers don’t have to be available everyday; even just one day of help would work.

  • (AARF), 6570 James B. Rivers Dr. in Stone Mountain will have a booth at the Lilburn Farmer's Market beginning this Friday, July 27, and could use volunteers to help with set up and break down.

Since the market runs from 4-8 p.m., things need to be set up by 3:45 p.m. and broken down by 8:15 p.m., the organization said. Set up involves going by AARF Pet Central to pick up the tent, table and supplies, actual set up at the market and bringing the items back to AARF. Volunteers are needed July 27-August 31.
