Meet our Family of the Month; A Trusted Partnership with Parents

Primrose School of Five Forks selects the Downs family as the Family of the Month for October!

Marcus and Crystal Downs are the proud parents of Hamilton, a student in our Private Pre-K 1 class and older brother Hayden.  The Downs’ Family enjoys spending time together as a family and look forward to family adventures throughout the year.  They try to travel to a new city or state at least once a year.  When Hamilton was a toddler, they explored the El Yunque Rainforest in Puerto Rico.  They were able to view the beautiful sights of nature while climbing the trail.  Their most recent adventure was during a trip to Chicago this summer.  They were in search for a good Chicago hot dog and when they couldn’t find one, they settled on a deep dish pizza and root beer floats that were almost as big as Hamilton!  Whether they travel near or far, they treasure the moments together as a family because they are truly special experiences.

The Downs Family also takes an annual family vacation to Charleston, SC, where they play on the beach, collect shells, and fish in the low country.  This summer Hamilton caught 2 small flounder and a baby shark!

They also enjoy March Madness and are die hard UNC basketball fans, so they are typically watching basketball games during the season.  Most weekends, the Downs Family enjoys hanging out at home playing Wii sports and creating “Olympic Tournaments” among each other.

A strong relationship with Jesus is very important to the Downs Family.  They attend 12 Stone Church and enjoy the weekly, real life application of God’s word presented during the church service.  As a family they have created a WORD WALL where each of them identifies a word of the week to use as positive motivation.  The canvas hangs near their front door as a daily reminder to think and speak positively.

The Downs family shares their Primrose experience:

When the Downs’ were asked why they chose Primrose School of Five Forks for their children, they replied, “We have been extremely impressed with the administration’s attention to detail.  They are not only professional, but also take the time to make personal connections with each family.  Primrose provides quality care and education to each student and goes the extra mile to address the needs of the entire family.  From “Parent’s Night Out” to informative emails during local or national crisis, parents are informed of the steps taken to provide a fun, safe learning environment for our children.  We value the partnership we have established with the teachers and look forward to the continuous development of our son as a Primrose student.  We are frequently amazed about how detailed his recap of the day can be.  Who expects a 4 year old to recite the 7 continents or tell habitat facts about lemurs?!  Primrose is unique in that it focuses the development of the entire child not only academically and socially, but also emotionally and morally.  The values of Primrose support those of our family and we would recommend this facility without any reservation.”

Congratulations to the Downs family!
