Free Diabetes Workshops

ATLANTA July 15, 2013 --The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is launching a workshop series that helps to manage the challenges of living with diabetes. For adults with type 2 diabetes, Better Choices, Better Health addresses concerns like knowing how and when to eat, avoiding complications and getting support from friends and family.Β

Developed and tested at Stanford University, the Better Choices, Better Health workshop series will help participants with diabetes understand how to eat while still making it enjoyable, monitor and manage their blood sugar, start or maintain a regular exercise program, communicate better with family, friends, and their medical teams, and design their own self-management programs.

The workshop is open to anyone who is 18 years or older with type 2 diabetes. There is no cost for the program.
