Woman's Club Filling Kids' Christmas Boxes

The club's annual Home Tour is also coming up.

Members of the GFWC Stone Mountain Woman's Club are participating in Operation Christmas Child and filling Christmas Boxes for Children.

"We are striving to fill 200 boxes this year," Pat Sartain told Patch. "We also have a team of volunteers who will go to the warehouse and check boxes to be sure they do not contain objectionable objects or products. This has become an annual project of our Woman's Club."

In early December, Club members will gather at the Woman's Club Clubhouse to fill Christmas stockings for Veterans at the V A Hospital and for the Women's Resource Center. Desserts will be donated for the Christmas luncheon for DeKalb Police Officers held at Perimeter College and more desserts for the Tucker Police Precinct.

The biggest project the GFWC Stone Mountain Woman's Club has coming up is the Annual Christmas Home Tour on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A donation of $25 includes lunch at the Woman's Club between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and the self-guided Tour.

Tickets are available now from Club members and they can also be obtained at ART Station and the Old Post Office Emporium.
