Lithonia High and Police Hosting Trunk-or-Treat

DKPD joins festivities and encourages safe trick-or-treating.

The DeKalb County Police Department is joining the fun this Halloween by participating in the festivities.

East Precinct will host a Trunk-or-Treat in the parking lot of Lithonia High School. Officers will decorate their patrol units and give out candy and Chief Cedric Alexander will be on hand to greet participants.

The Department encourages families to remain safe this Halloween and offer the following safety tips to ensure your night is filled with cheer:

* Only eat candy that is in its original wrapper
* Do not go trick-or-treating alone
* Carry a flash light if you are out after dark
* Use reflective tape on costumes
* Do not enter cars or homes
* Do not walk or dart in the street; walk on sidewalks
* Drivers should slow down and use extreme caution in residential areas

Thursday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. Lithonia High School parking lot, 2440 Phillips Road.
