Food, Zombies, River Rafting, James Bond & Motocross

1.     Sixth Annual Chattahoochee River Summer Splash: Saturday. Make a big splash at the coolest event this summer, the Sixth Annual Summer Splash! Float in a kayak, canoe or raft and beat the heat in your six-mile journey of discovery down the Chattahoochee River.

2.     11th Annual Atlanta Downtown Restaurant Week Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week returns for its eleventh year onSaturday, July 27, through Sunday, August 4, 2013. More than 35 restaurants will participate by offering $15, $25, or $35 prix-fixe brunch, lunch and dinner menus, allowing diners to enjoy casual destinations, upscale eateries and neighborhood hot spots alike. 

3.     Zombie Pub Crawl. At 4 p.m. Saturday, complimentary zombie makeovers will be provided in the parking lot of Diesel Filling Station at 870 N. Highland Ave. in Virginia Highland. The zombies will hit the local bars before coming back for an 8 p.m. afterparty at Diesel.  

4.     Jazz on the Lawn: Ted Howe Trio & Karla Harris - Music of James Bond: At Callonwolde, 980 Briarcliff Road, Friday, 7:30 pm. "Shaken Not Stirred" reinvents the beloved music from the James Bond legacy. Ted Howe's arrangements with Karla Harris’ vivid vocals will skyrocket you through decades with 007 classics. Howe’s accomplishments in many roles as performer, arranger, composer and his powerful touch on the piano have led him to work with luminaries such as Herbie Mann, Henry Mancini, Lainie Kazan, Buddy Rich and more.

5.     RED BULL RAISING THE BAR WITH RONNIE RENNER Pro motocross rider Ronnie Rennerwill set the ultimate, up close and personal practice stage in Atlanta, in front of thousands of onlookers July 26-27 before heading to X Games 2013 in Los Angeles.  Renner’s area of expertise, Step Up, is similar to track and field’s pole vaulting, but with a motocross bike.
