Domino's Pizza needs to hire at least 400 employees for openings all over metro Atlanta, according to an announcement Monday from franchise owner Cowabunga Inc. The company has two locations in the Stone Mountain area and is planning to open numerous new ones in the Southeast. "Domino's needs to staff the locations as soon as possible with store managers, assistant managers, drivers and customer service representatives," the announcement stated. Stone Mountain CID is asking County Commissioners for an economic development tool.
Representatives of the Stone Mountain Community Improvement District (CID) are asking DeKalb County leaders to open access to a powerful tool for job growth. Later this month, Commissioners are expected to consider measures allowing for the establishment of opportunity zones for the first time. Opportunity zones are geographic designations where state-administered tax credits benefit businesses creating new employment. New and existing businesses could realize a $3,500 job tax credit in state income tax liability and payroll withholding for each new job during a five-year period. With a minimum requirement of creating only two jobs, an employer could receive a cumulative total of $35,000 in tax credits. According to CID President Emory …

Fashion industry reps came to Lithonia looking for just the right model.
The Ashley Stewart and PLUS Model Magazine model search event at Stonecrest Mall in Lithonia on Sunday, May 5 was a big success. A total of 98 aspiring models, most of them local, met with PLUS Model Magazine Editor-In-Chief Madeline Jones and submitted applications in the national model search. A fashion photographer from Forte Media Photography took professional shots of the applicants. Several volunteers from two organizations, “Curve Appeal” and “Pink City,” helped facilitate the application and photography process on-site.
