Chamblee Defeats GAC in OT to Remain Unbeaten

Dezmin Reed’s 1-yard run on fourth down in overtime gave Chamblee the edge it needed as the Bulldogs defeated Greater Atlanta Christian 27-24 Thursday night at Adams Stadium. It was GAC’s first loss of the season while Chamblee remains unbeaten.

Chamblee led 14-0 at halftime, but GAC scored 21 straight points to take the lead midway through the fourth quarter. Chamblee tied the game on Deonte Boyland's 4-yard run with 3:36 remaining.

The Bulldogs blocked a 28-yard field goal attempt with five seconds to go in regulation to force the overtime. GAC got the ball first and took a 24-21 lead on Brandon Holzgrefe's 29-yard field goal.

Class AAAA Chamblee is 3-0 for the first time since 2007, when it finished the season 12-2 and reached the AAA semifinals. GAC, ranked No. 6 in AA, fell to 3-1.
