Where Will Your Kids Trick or Treat on Halloween?

Question of the Week: Do you think it's safe to let your kids go door-to-door to ask for treats?

Is old-fashioned trick or treating too dangerous? Will you let your kids go knocking on doors in your neighborhood this year?

Or will you head for one of the many Halloween alternatives?

There are several parades and festivals designed to offer a different approach to Halloween fun.

The Grant Park Conservancy is hosting a kids' costume and lantern parade on Oct. 27.

On the same day, Chamblee will hold a Halloween Spooktacular face painting, pumpkin painting, a spooky funhouse, games and even a 5K. And the Fernbank Museum will hold a Fernbank Boo-seum Trick or Treat which will include free treats for kids who show up in costume.

On Halloween night itself, Buckhead's Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church will hold a Trunk or Treat event. Church volunteers with decorated car trunks or tailgates will pass out candy at the church parking lot from 6-7 p.m. so kids can have a safe trick-or-treat experience.

And some local malls also throw trick or treat events.

What do you plan to do? Turn the kids loose? Or take them to a more structured holiday event? Tell us what you think in the comments area below this article.

And while we're talking about Halloween, don't forget to upload a photo to enter the Patch Best Halloween Costume in America Contest. State finalists will receive $250 prizes and one grand prize winner will receive $5,000.

It's only safe if the parent goes with the kids and no the person house that the kids will be treating at. In this day and age, I don't think is safe for kids to do so along.

Last year we had so many trick or treaters (I counted 67), and a lot of parents, too. I'm hopeing for the same or more this year. I've got dark chocolate for the parents this year, as well as the normal milk chocolate for the children. Now that I'm a senior, I'm loveing Halloween on a whole new level.
