Beading Class (for girls 12 and under)

Why go: Bead Society member JoAnn McEwen will assist with this lesson. Supplies and materials will be available to make bracelets or earrings.

Arabia Mountain Expedition
When: Saturday, Nov. 17-Sunday, Nov. 18
Where: 9:30 a.m. registration, Lithonia Woman’s Club, 2564 Wiggins St., Lithonia
Why go: Tour some of the rich, storied history of the Arabia Mountain area on one or both days of the expedition, which includes a 24 mile bike tour on Sunday, according to Crossroads News.
How much: $35 for Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation members, $40 for visitors; Sunday’s bike ride is $30. Both Saturday and Sunday: $65.
Date Night Pottery
When: Saturday, Nov. 17
Where: ART Station, 5384 Manor Dr., Stone Mountain
Why go: Be creative (and maybe a bit messy) with someone special or a group of friends.

Stone Mountain Park Christmas

Why go: If you're looking to usher in the holiday season, this is a dazzling way.
How much: You must buy one of the following to take part in the Stone Mountain Park Christmas activities:
- Christmas Adventure Pass, $28 plus tax, adults; $22 plus tax, children ages 3-11
- Snow Mountain & Christmas Combo Pass, $45, plus tax for child/adult; or
- Mountain Membership, $56 for adults, $44 for ages 3-11.

Bagpiper at Sundown
When: Saturday, Nov. 17
Where: Stone Mountain Village Gazebo, next to the train depot, center of town
Why go: Come for the free performance of this new tradition in the City of Stone Mountain on Saturday "and remember someone who 'shall not be forgotten' or just pause for a little quiet reflection to the beautiful and haunting sounds of a lone bag-piper," organizers say. The piper will play for 30 minutes and end his performance with "Amazing Grace".
How much: Give a donation of $25 or more to commemorate someone specific. The person's name will be announced by the piper before the performance.
