Memorial Set Up for Family Members Involved in N.J. Crash

Three people were killed in the accident that happened on the New Jersey Turnpike on Dec. 27.

Updated 11:08 a.m: 11 Alive reports that the Stone Mountain residents pronounced dead at the scene of an accident on the N.J. Turnpike have been identified as Ainsworth Mallett, 51; wife Jacqueline, 49; and son Drew, 12. Daughter Nicole, 18, survived.

According to WSB, the family ran the Golden Krust Caribbean restaurant location on Rockbridge Road.

Mallett's wife is listed on Stephenson Middle School's website as an administrative assistant in the counseling department.

Richard Gayle, who frequented the Golden Krust and is from Jamaica as Ainsworth Mallett was, remembered the franchisee as being very "hands on" in the restaurant.

"I was very shocked that something like that occurred," said Gayle, after leaving a bouquet of flowers at the memorial. "The community will be very saddened and he will be sorely missed."

11 Alive and its Philadelphia sister station, WCAU reported that the accident happened when a tractor-trailer, which hit two cars including the Toyota Camry that the Stone Mountain family was in, jacknifed, crushing and then pushing the Camry into another tractor-trailer, the news stations report.

This is SO Sad for the Stone Mountain Community. Mrs. Mallet was a staff member at Stephenson Middle, her son a student, and her husband of course ran our local Golden Crust restaurant. I know the majority of the community is in shock. Prayer is needed for this family, and specifically for Nicole who is left with the knowledge and memories of this day. God Bless this family.

My heart goes out to the family and to the staff and their families at Golden Krust as they too will be affected by all this. I don't know the family, but I am deeply saddened.

This is very devastasting! I loved this family. May Almighty God, Jehovah, please remember this family at the time of the resurrection. Satan is the reason for such tragedies and one day our loving God will swallow up death forever. (Rev. 21:1-4)

I am truly saddened by this news. I worked with Ainsworth at a drugstore for about 5 years. He was a wonderful, hardworking, kind man. He always had a positive comment and was an inspiration to all who had the pleasure of meeting him. Rest in Peace, my friend.

I have known Ainsworth and Jacquline for over 20 years, we worked together in Enfield, CT. We kept intouch when they moved to GA. They were the nicest, kindest couple I have ever met. Please keep Nicole in prayer.

I would have missed the home going service time if I was to attend. I thought it was 1:00pm for some reason. I did not knew them, but I would not be able to endure it at all. It is just one of the saddest things on earth right now. God knows my heart deeply goes out to Nicole, family, friends, customers and associates. My heart is still sad, and my soul weary. RIP my Jamaican family. Lord knows it is real painful.

I do not know the family personally, but unfortunately I was present on the scene shortly after the accident took place.
I pass the spot that it took place on an almost daily basis, and I always pray for the daughter when I go past it.
It's a difference to hear about something as opposed to being present.
I experience these events occasionally, but this one I will never forget.i pray the family that's still here will be healed and be able to go forward.
God bless.
This is the only hope we have in this short lived and fragile life we have here.1 thes 4:13-18.
