Report: Stephenson Ranks 35th Among Georgia High Schools
U.S. News & World Report's rankings of the nation's best high schools puts Stephenson at the silver medal level, Redan at bronze.
U.S. News & World Report came out with its rankings of the nation's best high schools Tuesday, and in Stone Mountain, Redan and Stephenson had admirable results.
Stephenson received a silver "medal" in the magazine's national rankings. The school came in at 35 in the state, 1,799 nationally. Though it did not rank nationally, Redan received bronze medal recognition. Stone Mountain High School was unranked.
DeKalb County schools with the highest rankings were Chamblee Charter High School (ranked eighth in Georgia, 406 nationally) and Lakeside High Schoo (ninth in Georgia, 517 nationally).

Good to see we have schools within the district that are actually doing something positive. I highly recommend the district take a close look at Clarkston H.S. and its feeder school--for it is the antithesis of what Redan and Stephenson are doing. It is pathetic! The last 3 years have been a complete (utter) FAILURE. Can't wait to see those CRCT scores. Teachers are begging for a change in leadership given the lack of discipline and academics. Many plan to walkout next year if nothing is done about it. The ship is "sinking" and the captain should go down with it.
