Photo of the Day: Bird at Walmart
This bird seemed to be reigning over the Lithonia Walmart parking lot.
This regal bird caught my attention from across the parking lot at the Walmart on Fairington Road in Lithonia. It didn't stay long on its perch - a steel poll in the shopping cart return area. Perhaps it didn't want its photo taken.
Any guesses on what kind of bird it is?

The bird is most probably a juvenile Coopers Hawk. Locals also call it a Red Tail, but we do not have them in our area, and it is also perching near the ground. We forget that most of Dekalb County and Rockdale were farmed and forested 30 years ago. Maybe Santa will bring you a Camera to supplement that cell phone. :) Merry Christmas !
