38,000 Square Foot L.A. Fitness Under Construction at Panola and Covington
The facility will include a swimming pool, kids club and more for members.

L.A. Fitness is going up near the corner of Panola Road and Covington Highway.
The new workout center will be across from the shopping center anchored by Big Lots and the now-shuttered Frank Theatres.
Among the 38,000 square foot facility's amenities for members will be a swimming pool, kids club, personal training, fitness classes, basketball, free weights and state-of-the-art equipment, according to information at its preview center at 6746 Covington Highway, Suite 103, in Lithonia, a few doors down from the Dollar Tree.
L.A. Fitness is also in the process of building a new location on the Gwinnett County side of Stone Mountain.

VERY good news! I hope this will stir additional positive development to the area. I heard that Walmart Food Market is coming to the Panola-Covington Highway area as well. Has anyone heard or can comment on that?

I read
that the WalMart Market will be in place of the Big Lots. It should be open in 12 to 18 months. Both businesses will be a plus for the area.
