Kid Stuff: Children's Activities This Week

Check your local library for all kinds of kid-friendly, summer activities.

 

Find something for the kids and teens to do this summer so you don't hear the dreaded words "I'm bored." DeKalb County Library branches in Stone Mountain-Redan offer lots of options:

FOR BABIES:

1. What: Building Blocks

When: Wednesday, June 20, 10-10:45 a.m.

Where: Redan-Trotti Library, 1569 Wellborn Rd., Lithonia.

Why go: Play time for babies ages 0-24 months.

FOR PRESCHOOLERS:

2. What: Time for Tales

When: Wednesday, June 20, 11-11:45 a.m.

Where: Redan-Trotti Library (see address above)

Why go: Sing songs, listen to stories, do finger plays.

FOR SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN:

3. What: Big Dreams Art

When: Wednesday, June 20, 2-3 p.m.

Where: Stone Mountain-Sue Kellogg Library, Leon St. Phone: 770.413.2020

Why go: Create a poster about your dreams (for ages 5-12).

3. What: Read with Rover

When: Saturday, June 23, 12-1 p.m.

Why go: Youngsters can practice their reading to therapy dog Bogey (for ages 5-8).

FOR TEENS: 

4. What: REDA Teen Tuesdays

When: Tuesday, June 19, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Why go: Bring a snack and enjoy a movie.

5. What: Play Life-Sized Monopoly

When: Tuesday, June 19, 2-3:30 p.m.
