Business After Hours
When/Where: Thursday, Sept. 22, 6 p.m.-8 p.m., Smoke Rise Country Club, 4900 Chedworth Drive, Stone Mountain.
Why Go: Open to the community, Business After Hours is an event that allows guests to mingle and network with 50 to 80 professionals. Appetizers and a cash bar will be available, and golfers can also participate in a nine-hole golf event beforehand at 3 p.m.
Pricing: $10 per person, and $20 to $25 for the golf event (price of the business event included).
Stone Mountain Historic Society Open House and Pot & Plant Sale
When/Where: Saturday, Sept. 24, 4 p.m.-8 p.m., Wells Brown House, 1036 Ridge Avenue, Stone Mountain.
Why Go: The Stone Mountain Historic Society is holding an open house with a fall plant sale of Japanese maples, perennials, annuals and more. Guests can tour the 1870s Wells Brown House and its gardens, in addition to trying the wine and cheese.
Pricing: A $10 donation is requested.
Mini-Grooming Sessions at AARF Pet Central
When/Where: Sunday, Sept. 25, 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m., AARF Pet Central, 6570 James B. Rivers Drive, Stone Mountain.
Why Go: Every doggie needs to be occasionally pampered and clean, and AARF is offering mini-grooming sessions with a professional groomer. Bring the pup in for a bath, nail trim, ear cleaning and anal gland cleaning.
Pricing: Costs range frm $25 to $45 for most dogs. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Complimentary Gourmet Dinner and Social Security Retirement Benefits Presentation

Why Go: Learn about children's seatbelt safety by technicians specialized in passenger safety. Sponsored by Safe Kids Gwinnett and City of Lilburn, the Lilburn Park event will have demos and personal car seat checks.
Women's Market in Old Town
When/Where: Saturday, Sept. 24, 2 p.m.-8 p.m., Jackie Brown Essentials, 94 Main Street, Lilburn.
Why Go: Jackie Brown Essentials and the Little Shop of Arts and Antiques are holding the first monthly women's market this weekend. With about a dozen lady vendors, the open-to-the-public market will have artsy items for sale including windchimes, designer T-shirts, purses, fabric art, jewelry and more.

"My Imaginary Pirate"
When/Where: Thursday, Sept. 22, 7 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 24, 7 p.m., Brookwood High School, 1255 Dogwood Road, Snellville.
Why Go: Brookwood High School introduces "My Imaginary Pirate," a story about the adventures of a boy named Jesse and his imaginary friend, Terrible One-Eyed Jack.
Pricing: $7 for adults and $6 for students and seniors.
Tucker Middle School Health Fair and 5K Run/Walk
When/Where: Saturday, Sept. 24, 7 a.m., Tucker Middle School, 2160 Idlewood Road, Tucker.
Why Go: The Picture of Health Foundation is having its first annual 5K run/walk at Tucker Middle to raise funds for childhood obesity. Open to all ages, the 5K will jumpstart the event, and a health fair will take place afterward with posture screenings, diabetes screenings, dental health checks, flu shots and more.
Pricing: $30 for adults and $10 for students under 18 on day of race. The health fair is free.
Zumbathon Charity Event for Susan G. Komen for the Cure
When/Where: Saturday, Sept. 24, 6 p.m.-8 p.m., Grayson High School, 50 Hope Hollow Road, Loganville.
Why Go: Dance and shop at this pink party to support breast cancer research. Zumba will be led by eight different local instructors, beauty care vendors will be available, and zumbawear will be for sale.
Pricing: $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Cancer patients and survivors are invited at no admission charge. Advance tickets can be purchased here.
