Fresh produce such as peaches, as well as tamales, tacos and children's activities are coming to Clarkston this weekend.
The Clarkston Farmers Market will have its kickoff celebration on Sunday, May 20, 11:30 am - 3:30 pm, at the Clarkston Community Center activities field. The center is located at 3701 College Avenue in Clarkston.
Here's a description, from the Clarkston Farmers Market Facebook page, about today's effort:
Final list for Sunday, May 20: Taylorganic Farms, Steve Miller's Farm, Ellen Htwe Farms, Jolly Avenue Community Garden, Clarkston Food Coop, and members of the Clarkston Community Gardens will be providing fresh produce, and Pearson Farms will feature peaches and pecans. CaribPops, Tamale Queen, and Nazifa's Bakery will serve up locally-made delicious treats. Oakhurst Community Garden has plants for sale. Bhutan Baskets and Refugee Sewing Society will have handmade kudzu baskets, textiles, jewelry, and other goods, and local resident Chris Busing will feature custom chicken coops.
