Center Town Gallery Holds First Fashion Show

The gallery plans to hold two each year.

Center Town Gallery held its first fashion show Sunday, an invitation-only event that paired handbags made by T. Lee Art and Design and jewelry made by Sailor Studio. 

Mayor Patricia Wheeler was among the models. Kim Delaney, Downtown Development Authority director, and Susan Ryles, an artist at North Town Gallery, narrated.

"It's really nice," said Kathy Phillips, a Stone Mountain resident who was among the invited. "They're local artists, and to be able to support local artists is really good."

The next show, planned for August, will be open to everyone.

"I think it went great," said Debbie Thigpen, who owns Sailor Studio with her daughter, Lily. "We got the hard stuff behind us and learned a few things. We're ready for August.
