The following is from the Stone Mountain Community Improvement District:

CID Schedules Final Public Meeting For Economic Development Plan

Nov. 15 is the last community input session for CID planning effort

On Nov. 15, the Stone Mountain Community Improvement District (CID) will finish gathering public input to assist in creating a new infrastructure investment and economic development roadmap for the area.

Stone Mountain CID Open House

Date/Time: Thursday, Nov. 15  -  11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Location: 1569 Stone Ridge Drive, Stone Mountain
In keeping with the economic development theme, this event will take place in a warehouse space on Stone Ridge Drive (between E. Ponce de Leon Road and Lewis Road).

Parking: Parking will be available at the warehouse location and, if needed, across the street.

RSVP: Amanda Hatton, amanda.hatton@jacobs.com or 678.333.0476
(Requested to accommodate seating and lunch)

The open house event will provide stakeholders with their last opportunity to discuss transportation improvements, proposed regulatory changes and business retention and attraction plans for the greater Mountain Industrial corridor. The plan envisions the area as a vibrant jobs hub along a prosperous, business-friendly corridor extending from Mountain Industrial Boulevard in DeKalb to Jimmy Carter around I-85 in Gwinnett.

Final plans revisions will be made based on the input received on Nov. 15. When the draft is complete, the next steps will include CID Board and County Commission adoption by early 2013.

The planning effort is in cooperation with the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) and DeKalb Development Authority with support from the ARC's PLAN2040 Livable Centers Initiative Innovation grant.
