Stone Mountain CID Continues Economic Development Meetings Oct. 11

The Stone Mountain Community Improvement District (CID) wants your feedback on a first-of-its-kind strategic economic development plan for attracting employers to available commercial and industrial properties in the CID area.

On Oct. 11, the CID will conduct the second of three public meetings with business and community representatives. The meeting will highlight draft study recommendations and engage attendees in discussion of proposed initiatives.

Recommendations include strategies to expedite permitting and licensing within DeKalb County, techniques to grow, expand and attract businesses, improving workforce development, upgrades to infrastructure, and proposed regulatory improvements for the area.  Ideas collected will help steer the Plan's short and long term action plans for job growth.

The CID's planning effort is part of the Livable Centers Initiative Study sponsored by the Atlanta Regional Commission. The CID is also working in cooperation with the DeKalb County Development Authority.
